Hello! Welcome to a new blog. Today we will be discussing about the unknown and mysterious facts of Puri. So let's start the journey of exploring together.
Puri is a city is Orissa, India. It is famous for it's unique temples. There lies some of the most fascinating parts of history. Let's see...
- The first temple that comes to my mind while talking about Puri is Sri Jaggnath temple. Jaggnath temple is one of the temple dedicated to Krishna. The Hindus consider lord Jaggnath as Jag ke nath or the one who controls the whole world. There are 3 siblings in total which are as follows: Jaggnath, Balbhadra(His brother), Subhdra(His sister). Some of the most shocking facts of the temple are: The flag of the temple always flows in the opposite direction of the wind, The temple has no shadow, The temple is a no fly zone even birds don't fly above the Jaggnath temple, it is said that the prasadam is accepted by Lord Jaggnath only when his reflection is seen in mirror, If we listen to idols by putting our ears on them we will be able to hear the sounds of the Sea, The top of the temple is said to be the Sudrashan Chakra.
- Let's see the most mysterious ritual of the Jaggnath temple. It is known as Nabakalebara. This is done every 12 to 14 years. Legends say that in this process lord Jaggnath is reborn, new idols are made and according to a story the heart of Krishna is transfered to another idol.
But we will know about them in upcoming blogs, till then read and enjoy.
